The EU-funded FruitDiv project aims to conserve and exploit the diverse genetic wealth of emblematic fruit tree CWRs, such as Malus, Pyrus, and Prunus, through innovative genetic strategies and collaborative efforts.

Their approach includes:

  • Characterisation of genetic and phenotypic diversity
  • Development of multiomics-based breeding strategies
  • Engagement with farmers and associations
  • Implementation of an online platform with genotyping and phenotyping data
