Role in the project
The UNIPA Team will work within WP1 and WP4, with responsibilities for in-situ data collection on the Sicilian wild relatives of Brassica oleracea populations. The focus will be on the characterization of functional traits (specific leaf area, chlorophyll content, etc.) in the field, through in-situ measurements of a set of traits in wild-growing individuals, to explore traits related to increased fitness under constraining climatic and edaphic conditions. The target taxa will be Brassica incana, B. macrocarpa, B. villosa, B. rupestris. Within WP4, the UNIPA Team will contribute to increasing public awareness of the importance of CWRs and to the dissemination of the project’s results.
