INRAE - National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment
The French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment combines decades of expertise in agricultural science with environmental research. The Institute conducts research to address challenges in agriculture, food systems and environmental management. Its work focuses on improving sustainable agricultural practices, enhancing food security and protecting natural resources. INRAE collaborates with diverse academic, industry and policy partners to develop solutions that are scientifically sound and socially responsible.
Role in the project
INRAE is in charge of the coordination of the project. In addition, INRAE leads the WP1 on in-situ characterisation of CWR. It is also species leader for Brassica and Triticum.
INRAE will particularly prioritize the sampling of Brassica populations and relatives, assess the vulnerability of populations and characterise the diversity of disease resistance genes, and participate to the development of novel genomic resources and CWR × elite populations to better exploit the available natural diversity. It will also evaluate populations for resistance to diseases and for nutritional value.
INRAE assures the scientific coordination and project monitoring with the help of INRAE Transfert. It coordinates data management for making Pro-Wild data and research outputs findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR).
